HistoryBegur is a town with deep historical personality. In the shelter of its medieval castle, coral, fishing, and Indians have featured in the bright pages of its history that is reflected in every street, every house and every corner of the town.The most famous image of Begur is undoubtedly the medieval castle that dominates the town, but there are other interesting places to visit, and the many Indian houses (colonial style buildings, built by begurencs that immigrated to “the Americas “fleeing the economic crisis and then returned with a large fortune), the towers of the sixteenth century (a legacy from the time that pirates sailed the Mediterranean and built by begurencs as a means of refuge from their assaults ), church (Gothic building dedicated to St. Peter) and other historical buildings like the Casino Cultural or Old School.
