Beaches and coves

Begur enjoys a coastline of incomparable beauty, where the cliffs, pine trees, hidden coves with crystal clear waters and the rocky coastline make this area the most beautiful on the Costa Brava. Begur has eight bays and beaches, arranged to the north, east and south of the town, each with completely diverse features and beauty.

The first beach from the north is Playa del Rincon, found near the neighboring town of Pals. The beach is wide and offers a beautiful view of the Medes Islands althugh it gets busy during the season there is always room to move. You will find lots of beach cafes and small supermarkets with everything from a needle to an ancor.

Following the coast south-west is the bay of Red Island, renowned nudist beach. This beautiful beach. It is characterized by being dominated by a rocky islet of a reddish color which gives its name to the cove.
Sa Riera beach is one of the largest and closest to Begur village. To the right is the sheltered bay from Port des Pi, and to the left of King Cove. Sa Riera, which gets its name from a stream that divides the beach into two halves, retains its traditional character and also offers various sporting activities and services.

Located east of the village you will find Cala Aiguafreda, a small cove sheltered by the hill. There are a small dock for boats and a nice picnic area.

The next cove to the east also, Sa Tuna. It has beautiful costal paths.

On the southern coast of Begur is the unique beach inn, located just at the foot of the imposing Cap de Begur. This natural hideaway has coarse sand and has managed to remain untouched and preserves a primitive purity that is rarely found in other parts of the Costa Brava.

We find also in the south, the bays of Fornells. The walkway serves as a bridge to get to all small creeks that form the core of Fornells:

The last beach , situated south of Fornells, is the cozy beach Aiguablava feature for its crystal shallow waters, and its fine sand.
