You should be able to walk to Sa Riera beach from Begur town in 20 mins, longer on the return up a steep hill (much Longer!)
The bus runs from the village during the main season.
The beach is sandy not very fine sand but adequate for sand castles. It shelves away a bit quickly so be carefull of small children. It is a good size beach with a smaller beach a walk over some rocks to the right.
There is a beach restaurant that sells snacks and drinks also there are restaurants on the way to the beach and facing on to the beach. You will find supermarkets on the way to the beach that sell everything from a needle to an anchor.
There is good bathroom facilities and showers on the beach.
Sa Riera is a good-sized beach that gets quit busy in high season but you will still find space on busy days. There is also a life guard on duty during the season.
Parking is pay parking and is limited, so go early or late in the day or take the bus, you need to be really fit for the walk back up the hill. I havent attempted it yet but I have threatened the children with it (cruel Mammy)!
Wish you were here!
